Balaenoptera physalus
Auf der Fahrt heute sind uns zwar die Fleckendelfine “durch die Lappen” gegangen, aber die beiden großen Finnwale konnten wir gut beobachten. Zuerst schwammen sie nach Westen und vor Ribeira Brava ging es dann aufs Meer hinaus Richtung Süden. Die hellere, weissliche rechte Vorderseite läßt sich auf den ersten beiden Fotos recht gut erkennen oder erahnen.

On our trip today we missed the altantic spotted dolphins but the 2 big fin whales we could observe very good and even close. First they were heading to the west, but in front of Ribeira Brava they began to swim to the south, always more into the ocean. On the first two photos you can see quiet good the clearer, whiter right side of their front part.

Auf ausdrücklichen Wunsch von Nancy und Norman, gab es heute wieder Pilotwale zu beobachten. Zuerst sahen wir aber ausgiebig eine Schule von Tümmlern und später dann, immer weiter aufs offene Meer schwimmend, die Pilotwale. Bei beiden Arten können einzelne Tiere an Hand der Finne wiedererkannt werden (Fotoidentifikation) Infos zur Evolution der Wale folgen auf Wunsch von Herrn Neuner (bitte etwas Geduld haben)

Like some special guests Nancy and Norman wished so much we repeated the sightings of pilot whales from our last tour 
But first we saw and followed for a long time a big pod of bottlenose dolphins. In both species individuals can be recognized by their fin (photo-identification) .

Primeiro vimos e acompanhamos hoje durante meia hora um grupo grande de roazes (especial para a São) e a seguir tivemos com baleias piloto (boca de panela), que foram sempre mais para fora em direcção do sul. Em ambas as espécies distigua-se indivíduos através da barbatana dorsal (photo-identificação).

Eine Schule von ungefähr 15 Pilotwalen durften wir heute über eine halbe Stunde von Jardim do Mar über die “Ribeirões” bis nach Calheta begleiten.
Today we were able to accompany a pod of 15 pilot whales for about half an hour from Jardim do Mar till “Ribeirões” and Calheta.
Hoje acompanhamos um grupo de +/- 15 bocas de panela para meia hora frente do Jardim do Mar até os “Ribeirões” e Calheta.

Auf unserer Tour heute sahen wir eine kleine Gruppe gemeiner Delfine von 8 Tieren, 3 davon waren Jungtiere. Daher sind sie nur ca. 10 Minuten bei uns geblieben.
On out trip today we saw a little pod of common dolphins. Perhaps 8 animals with 3 young once in between, therefore they didn’t stay only for 10 minutes with us.
Na viagem de hoje estivemos com um grupo pequeno de talvez 8 animais. Eram golfinhos comuns com 3 crias, por isso eles só ficaram ca. de 10 minutos connosco.

Lamentamos, mas hoje não havia avistamentos.
Heute sahen wir Fleckendelfine und Tümmler an der gleichen Stelle. Die einen zogen Richtung Osten, die anderen Richtung Westen. Dank der Hilfe unserer Späher konnten wir beide Gruppen genügend beobachten.

Today we saw atlantic spotted dolphins and bottlenose dolphins together at the same place. One group went to the west, the other one to the east. With the help of our spotter we could observe both groups well.

Hoje vimos golfinhos pintados e roazes juntos no mesmo lugar. Um grupo fui em direcção oeste e os outros para leste. Com a ajuda do nosso vigia conseguimos observar bem os dois.

Eine tote Schildkröte an der Wasseroberfläche, eine zweite daneben, tauchte aber sobald wir uns näherten. Mehr dazu sobald wie möglich. Danke für das Foto Herr Jäger.

Heute ein sonniger Tag, doch später wurde es windig und wir werden wohl die nächsten Tage nicht rausfahren können. Wir sahen gemeine Delfine. eine große Schule mit sehr vielen Jungtieren.
Today was a sunny day, but later the wind began to blow and I think we’ll can’t go out for the next couple of days. We spotted common dolphins, a big pod with a lot of young once.
Hoje fui um dia de sol, mas mais tarde o vento começou e acho que não podemos sair nos próximos dias. Observamos golfinhos comuns, um grupo grande com bastantes crias.
Unsere heutige Sichtung: große Tümmler, die zügig gegen Osten schwammen, wir durften sie 20 Minuten lang begleiten.

Nosso avistamento do hoje: roazes, que nadaram rapidamente para leste. Acompanhamo-nas durante 20 minutos.

Heute wieder 2 Fahrten, aber bei ruhigerem Meer als vorgestern. Morgens sahen wir gemeine Delfine beim Fressen (siehe Fisch in der Schnauze), dann ganz kurz 3 Schnabelwale und später noch eine Menge Fleckendelfine. Nachmittags sahen wir nur Fleckendelfine, diese aber ausgiebig lange weil sie mit uns Richtung Westen schwammen.

Today we had two trips, with much more flat sea than the day before yesterday. In the morning we saw common dolphins feeding (look at the fish in its beak), then 3 beaked whales and later on a lot of atlantic spotted dolphins. In the afternoon we saw only atlantic spotted dolphins, but they stayed with us for a long time, while traveling to the west.

Hoje tivemos novamente duas viagens, mas com o mar mais calmo do que anteontem. De manha vimos golfinhos comuns em alimentação (veja o peixe na boca), depois 3 baleias de bico e mais tarde muitos golfinhos pintados. A tarde só vimos os golfinhos pintados, mas eles acompanharam o nosso barco para bastante tempo.
